WORKS
Project 3
The project
This project involved the complete strip and re-slating of the front elevation roof along with the full refurbishment and re-felting of the front gutter system, following extensive deterioration and ongoing water ingress issues.
The existing roof covering had begun to fail due to age, weather exposure, and deterioration of the original materials. Slates had become loose and unstable in multiple areas, while the underlying roof structure and detailing showed clear signs of long-term moisture exposure. The front gutter system had also deteriorated significantly, with failing felt linings and ineffective weatherproofing allowing water to penetrate and track into surrounding areas.
After carrying out a full assessment, it was clear that patch repairs would only offer a short-term improvement. A full strip and replacement solution was recommended to properly restore the integrity and reliability of the roof system.
The front elevation was fully stripped back and re-slated using high-quality natural slates installed over new breathable membrane, providing a strong, weather-resistant roof system built for long-term performance. At the same time, the front gutter was fully stripped, re-felted, and refurbished to restore effective drainage and ensure complete protection against future water ingress.

The completed works not only resolved the ongoing leak issues, but also transformed the overall appearance of the property, delivering a clean, traditional finish alongside a far more reliable and durable roofing system designed to last for decades.
