The project
This project involved the complete strip and replacement of a severely deteriorated pitched roof which had been suffering from long-term weathering, failing slate coverage, and defective lead detailing.
The original roof had reached the stage where repeated patch repairs were no longer a reliable solution. Numerous areas of the slate covering had begun to fail, allowing water ingress into the roof structure, while aged and worn lead flashings and watergates were no longer providing proper protection around key junctions and abutments.
Following a full inspection, a complete strip and re-slate was recommended as the most effective long-term solution to protect the property and restore the roof to modern standards.
The roof was fully stripped back and rebuilt using new breathable membrane, premium natural slates, and entirely new lead watergates and flashings throughout. Every detail was completed with a focus on longevity, weather resistance, and maintaining a high-end traditional finish in keeping with the property.
The completed transformation not only resolved the ongoing leak and deterioration issues, but dramatically improved the overall appearance, reliability, and lifespan of the roof system for decades to come.
